Handy hints to help maintain your computer in good running order:
1. "Locked Devices" To have your chromebook unlocked, please send email to [email protected]. Include your name, student Id number, and the CTag number (found on the underside of the chromebook that looks like this C000123456).
2. For a missing CTag. Type in Alt+v. Ctag wil post upper-right hand of screen.
3. To reset your computer, start a Powerwash:
- Press the Shift, Ctrl, Alt, and the letter "r" at the same time.
- Click on Powerwash
- Click on Continue
- Click on Let's go
- Select: +Add the WiFi network (312WIRELESS or I21WIRELESS)
- Click on Connect
- Click on Next
- Click on Accept and Continue
- Click on Done
- Click on Next
- Enter student ID number
- Enter password
- click on Sign In
4. Want Wi-Fi for your home? Please call the Family Support Line for Connectivity, at 619-260-2460. Hours are Mon.-Fri. 8:00-4:00 p.m. (Time extended to 4:00 p.m.)
5. For family discount of $30.00 monthly on internet service, complete an application at: https://www.fcc.gov/acp
6. STAFF computers, information:

7. For damaged or lost computers. Students may be charged $50.00-$100.00 for damaged or lost computers. Parents may contact their child's counselor for further information.

Chromebook won’t charge or is not starting up.
|
Power Check:
Check to ensure power is plugged in properly, especially where the power plug extension connects to the power block.
|
|
Can't login to the Chromebook. Ongoing login issues that keep giving you an error.
|
Powerwash:
A Powerwash factory reset erases all the information on your Chromebook's hard drive, including your settings, apps, and files. This process will not remove the Chromebook from SDUSD.

Get the error message: “Browser version unsupported.”
|
Update Chrome:
As a rule of thumb you should always make sure the Chromebook is up to date while troubleshooting.

|
Having website login issues on Canvas, Google Classroom , Zoom, Etc..
|
Clear History:
Most website login issues are due to corrupted browsing history especially if you are able to log in to one website but not another.

|
Having errors/issues with a Chrome extension.
|
Remove Extension:
While browser extensions are a great way to expand the functionality of Chrome, sometimes they need to be reset or removed and then reloaded if they are malfunctioning.
|
|
After installing a game or non-district app, you find that your Chromebook is not running as it should.
|
Remove games or other non-district applications:
Certain games and applications that are downloaded may cause your chromebook to slow down and might need to be removed.
|
|
Settings are not correct or not working as they should.
|
Reset to Factory Settings:
You might need to do this if apps or extensions you installed changed your settings without your knowledge. Bookmarks and passwords won't be cleared or changed.

|
Onscreen keyboard keeps displaying.
|
Disable onscreen keyboard:
The keyboard won't go away automatically and you need to manually disable it.
