Attendance

Attendance/Truancy

Regular and prompt attendance is the responsibility of both you and your parents/guardian. If you are absent, your parents/guardian must call the Attendance Office at (619) 560-4460 Extension 3021 or e-mail [email protected], [email protected] or send a note with you when you return to school. If you forgot your note to clear an absence, you will be considered temporarily truant and will have three (3) days to clear it by bringing a note to school. After three days, you will be considered truant for the days you were not in school. If you are out of class without permission or a pass, you are considered truant. A note the next day will not excuse you. All absences must be cleared within

3 days. Absences that are not cleared will become TRUANCIES.

Parents of students who will be absent from school for 5 days or more may request a "Homework Contract" at least one week prior to the absence. This will allow you to complete your homework when you are away and receive credit for the absences. Medical/dental appointments should be made before or after school hours.

Students are expected to attend at least part of the day at school before or after their appointment. For emergency purposes, any change of address or phone number should be reported to the Attendance Office as soon as possible.
